Our plans for the future:

This
is our 30th year in business and we are seeing the world change. As
much as we like exotic woods, the day is fast approaching when we must
stop using them. They are not renewable and their removal destroys
delicate inter-locking eco-systems that are struggling as it is.
Fortunately the goverment in Costa Rica started a program about 20
years ago to encourage landowners to re-plant their property with teak.
This program is working and there is an an abundance of plantation
grown teak available here which is taking pressure off of primary
forests. Within the next year this will be our only handle choice. All
sailors know about the wonders of teak and how well it survives with
exposure to sun and water. It is time for us to think about our impact
on the world.
