The Bitteroot is rapidly on the rise from the warm weather and rain. The first little wave of skwala's have been spotted over the past couple days, but river conditions are making things difficult. Wade fishing will be your best option, along with looking for walking pace water and smaller braids off the main channel. For top water patterns use a rogue Skwala, bullet head Skwala, Amy's ant, Flush Floater, or a Double Dutch Bug. The March browns should start showing up as well. Pheasant tail parachutes, D&D cripples, and Flick's March brown are all good choices. Subsurface fishing will still be your most productive method. Olive rubber legs, San Juan worms, sparkle stones, little black Sloan's, amber princes, and pheasant tails are all good options. With the recent spike in flows, it might be a good weekend to tie flies instead.

HATCHES/Flies: Midges, March Browns, BWO, Skwalas
