The Bitteroot is still blown out, and we are OK with that. The Bitteroot was due for a good "flush". Clearing out the river bottom could result in a bug-banaza this summer. The river channel will shift and slide into a completely different river (hopefully just in time for PMD's!). New trout habitat is in the making. The West Fork of The Bitteroot is also running very high and fast. This can be a very dangerous stretch of water at these flows. We wouldn't mess around until the flows come down a ways. Painted Rocks Reservoir can fish very well in the spring and might be worth the trip. The Missouri, Browns Lake, Harpers Lake, Beavertail pond, and Frenchtown Pond are some of your other options.
