The Bitteroot cooled off big time from last nights low temps, so you should have some pretty good fishing today. Middle river and the upper reaches have provided much more consistent dry fly fishing, with the lower river being more of a roll of the dice. PMDs, goldenstones, caddis, and hoppers are all on the menu. Now that we are into the work week, the unregulated black river monsters should be at home nursing their sunburns. Even though with the cooler temps, fishing has still been best in the evenings and mornings. Fishing a hopper dropper throughout the day will keep you busy while waiting for fish to get going on PMDs and caddis in the evening. Film Critic cripples, Spolight PMDs, rusty spinners, and parachute PMDs will all work well for sipping trout. Neversink caddis, para-caddis, and Cornfed caddis are some of our favorite caddis.
