** Hoot Owl restrictions are in play starting 8/3 from Veterans Bridge (Hamilton) downstream till the confluence of The Clark Fork**

Fishing has been day to day on The Bitteroot, with trico hatches becoming more relevant the further we get into August. Hoppers, nocturnal stones, and spruce moths have been our go to bugs right out of the gate. Evenings are a no go with Hoot Owl, so hit it early. For dries use, film critics, panty dropper hoppers, Bloom's spruce moths, para caddis, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, scuds, small micro stones and Pat's rubber legs. For streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

HATCHES/Flies: Caddis, BWOs, Golden Stones, Baetis, PMDs, yellow sallies
