The Bitteroot has dropped to 1300cfs at Bell Crossing. Skwala fishing has been pretty darn good over the last week or so. Chopping off the dropper was a beautiful feeling! Plus, being able to fish tight to structure made all the difference. March browns have been spotted here and there, but they are not out in any big numbers yet. Same story with baetis. TJ Hookers (new), tungsten stones, THE WORM, tungsten jigs, and purple princes will keep you busy while waiting for the dry fly bite. Double dutch bugs, flush floater skwalas, royal chubbies, blackout skwalas, water walkers, and half downs are all good choices for skwalas. Fishing will remain good while the river continues to drop throughout the week. Warm weather is on the way. Get it while it's good!
