The Bitteroot has leveled off and is starting to fish better everyday. The flow just above town is just under 2200 cfs and the clarity is pretty good. Skwalas have been out and about, but don't count on getting a fish every cast. Although, dry fly fishing has started to ramp up. Focus on working side channels and walking pace water. Remember to have long drifts with more mending rather that picking up and recasting. Ramps are messy, but are good to go. Weekends have been busy.

Double dutch bugs, flush floater skwalas, royal chubbies, blackout skwalas, and half downs are all good choices for skwalas. Underneath use pheasant tails, mighty mays, San Juan worms, amber princes, Pat's rubber legs, tungsten stones, and hare's ear nymphs. Get out and enjoy the weather!
