The Blackfoot is waking up from it's winter slumber with this warm weather in a big way. The water temps are getting into the 40s now which is a really good sign. It's still a little early for most of the big spring bugs, but they're just around the corner! The reports from the last two days have been pretty consistently good on nymphs and streamers. For bottom bugs use your usual stone fly patterns like double beads and pat's rubber legs along with copper johns, pheasant tails, micro stones, san juan worms, and Batmen nymphs. For streamer the two tone crystal buggers have been working well along with double gangas and dalai lamas. The fish are still down deep so make sure you've got enough weight to make it happen. You may see some midges popping in which case use a Griffiths gnat or a little (size 20) black parachute. Enjoy the sunshine!
