Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/12

The flows are sitting around 1300 cfs and will continue to bump and drop with the spring weather forecast this coming week. It's been a pretty chilly March for The Blackfoot and there is still a TON of snow up there. Water temps are peaking out in the low 40's, but we are starting to get there. Reports of baetis, midges, and a few March browns have trickled in to the shop, so be ready with some dries. BWO film critics, midge clusters, D&D cripples, You will have a small window in the afternoon. Streamers and nymphs have been the most productive. Skwala stones, purple princes, MacGruber nymphs, San Juan's, rubberlegs, jigged princes, March brown nymphs, zebra midges, two bit hookers, and olive Sloans. The jump in flow has definitely moved the fish into the banks, so keep your rigs close to shore for your best luck.
