The Blackfoot is on the rise and is fairly off color. The flow above Bonner crept up just below 7000 cfs. Be ready for another push of water tonight. The flow should mellow out with the cold front moving in for the weekend. With the flows as high as they are, it's definitely much more of a boaters game right now. If you are wade fishing, your best luck is going to be walking the banks and cherry picking the pocket water and obvious pools. Streamers and nymphs are your best bet, but you should still see some top water action. For streamers use sculpin patterns, dungeons, sparkle minnows, and double gongas. For nymphs use pheasant tails, hares ears, tungsten stones, purple princes, Pat's rubber legs, TJ hookers, and San Juan worms. Just in case you do see some dries coming off, a D&D cripple, parachute adams, or olive chubby should get you covered. The higher flows displace the fish into the banks so keep your junk tight to the shoreline and you should have some success.
