The Blackfoot has been topping out at 66 degrees the last couple days and fishing has been solid. Mornings have been the way to go. Water temps are still in the "safe zone", but that can change quickly. As the river warms into the afternoon, try to keep the fish in the water while releasing to minimize the stress on the fish.

Spruce moths and hoppers have been the name of the game. Weekdays have been best for avoiding tubers. Caddis and PMDs have been the evening gig, but they have been eating the spruce moth well into the evening. Fishing with a long dropper (24" or so) has worked well, while waiting for the dry fly bite. For nymphs use Pat's rubber legs, princes, CDC pheasant tails, Macgruber PMD nymphs, perdigons, blowtorch jigs, and rubberleg jigs. For streamers use dungeons, sculpzillas, JJ specials, standard buggers, sparkle minnows, and mojo minnows.
