Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 3/17

Fishing has stayed very solid along the whole length of The Clark Fork lately. Browns have been chasing streamers on the upper end and rainbows have been gorging themselves on nymphs below town. There is still a short window in the afternoon to find fish still looking to eat dry flies. Count on mahoganies and baetis for the dry fly action late in the afternoon. The dry fly window is getting shorter and shorter, but when it's good, it's been GOOD. The streamer fishing continues to be solid, with yellow still being the most productive on the upper river, and olive or black working the best below Missoula. Get it while its good! Warm, sunny days are rapidly becoming less of the "norm". The Missoula valley inversion will soon be a everyday reality!
