The Clark Fork has definitely been fishing better in the mornings and evenings. These fish are not a big fan of bright sun and warm water temps. Until the hoppers really get going, it can be pretty difficult to motivate the fish to eat mid day. Early and late fishing has been the best anyway. PMD's, caddis, Goldenstones, and hoppers are all on the menu. The caddis have been thick in the evening. The fishing remains considerably better from below Missoula all the way to St. Regis, rather than  the upper stretches.
