The Clark Fork has definitely been fishing better in the mornings and evenings. These fish are not a big fan of bright sun and warm water temps. Long droppers will get you through the mid day lull. Two-bit hookers, CDC P-tails, prince variations, MacGruber nymphs, and Pat's have been our go to droppers. PMD's, caddis, spruce moths, nocturnal stones, and hoppers are all on the menu. The caddis have been thick in the evening. The fishing remains considerably better from below Missoula all the way to St. Regis, rather than the upper stretches.
