The Clark Fork has been fishing really well, especially when we get a cloudy day. Top to bottom, The Clark Fork has been a pretty good bet. Mornings and evenings the fish have been moving out into the flat slicks looking for caddis and mayflies, while during mid day they have been piling into the riffles waiting for hoppers and other terestrials to float over. No need to hit the water at first light anymore. Tricos have really showed up over the last week, or so. For dries, use midge clusters, trico spinners, purple roosters, brindle chutes, never sink caddis, ant acids, and purple hoppers. For nymphs, use Pat's rubber legs, perdigons, prince nymphs, blowtorch jigs, frenchies, CDC pheasant tails, and TJ hookers.
