The evening fishing on the Clark Fork has been particularly noteworthy with excellent caddis and mayfly hatches. The mid day fishing has been a little spotty, but hopper dropper rigs, tandem nymph rigs, and streamers have all been good bets. Mornings have also had great mayfly hatches, but the evenings have been great. Trico spinner fall has been happening right around 10-11am. You will find some fall baetis intermingled with the tricos as well. Trico spinners, midge clusters, royal wulffs, last chance BWOs, and para BWOs have worked great on sipping trout. A few hecuba and mahoganies have been spotted, but not in any big numbers. For nymphs, use Pat's rubber legs, MacGruber nymphs, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, CDC pheasant tails and batman nymphs. Aztec buggers, peanut envy's, barely legals, mojo minnows, and sculpzillas have been great streamers for us.
