Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/4

Pink is definitely the color of choice for subsurface fishing right now. Pink scuds, pink Ray Charles, pink sow bugs, and pink worms seem to be the ticket. Stick with it! We will be throwing dry flies very soon. The midge fishing should be picking up every day. If you're desperate, the last hour of the day will be your best bet for dry fly opportunities. Try Quigley's midge cluster, RS2, or a tiny Klinkhammer should do the trick. The fish are also starting to get very grabby. Try swinging a streamer during the heat of the day and see what happens. Little flashy streamers have been getting grabbed the most. Try the Kreelex minnow, Mo Betta Minnow, Skiddish Smolt sz.6 or 8. The Flash Fry has been deadly. Be prepared for anything as far as weather goes. Have fun and get after it!
