L-DSCN2025

Rock creek has finally stabilized with the weather we've been having. The flow at the bottom is sitting just above 650cfs with good and improving clarity. The fishing has definitely picked up now that things have stabilized with deep tandem nymph rigs fishing the best. Use double beaded stones, pat's rubber legs, pheasant tails, Montana princes, and dark micro stones for you best luck. keep your rigs tight to the banks, as the fish tend to displace there in higher flows. You should see fish chowing skwalas and march browns so be prepared with some low riding skwala patterns like your standard skwala bullet head, Rogue skwala or peacock Barr fly. For the march browns, a size 14 to 16 parachute adams or parachute pheasant tail should work if the bugs are popping and the fish are looking up.

HATCHES: Midges, ice

FLIES: Prince nymphs, tiny parachute adams, stonefly nymphs, streamers.
